Third Dons Defeat |
 |
THE Dons are still on the downgrade. On Saturday at Kirkcaldy they suffered their third successive defeat. It was a game they might just as easily have won.
Raith Rovers were victors because they took two of their chances. Yet the Dons were the more attractive football combination and this despite the fact that their team included a number of "strangers."
BEST NEWCOMER
Cooper was the only player in defence who never seemed to be in any doubt. Gray (Morton) who was at centre-half was the best of the newcomers to the side. "Newman " and A. N. Other," who appeared in the attack, were obviously experienced players.
First goal came twenty minutes after the start of the second half. As Moody left his charge in an effort to intercept a lob from McDonnell, Hurrell headed the ball over the keeper and Stewart sent into an empty goal.
Raith's second goal came from a corner conceded by Graham. McNaught back-headed the ball into the net. Aberdeen's goal came in the closing minutes. It was scored by "A. N. Other" and was a well-taken affair.
