A Great Mid-line |
 |
The Fifers seldom had a look in. Tough on them that McKillop (Rangers) and Perry (Doncaster) could not turn out. Dougan and McGillivray alone showed signs of swinging a punch. Wallace and Hart excelled in defence throughout.
Aberdeen revealed methodical accurate team work. A great mid-line kept a skilful attack almost continually in action. Mutch took some time to settle, but later gave flashes of his best. Tireless Pattillo was a headache to an overworked Fife defence. Howe's adroit scheming added to their burden. Dunlermline never recovered from a disastrous start.
A Pattillo goal - gift from Mutch - was followed by Hogg foolishly conceding a penalty by handling a shot that was flying wide. G. Taylor later missed a second penalty, also needlessly given away. Issue never doubt.
