Dons Forge Ahead |
 |
ABERDEEN have now a clear lead of four points in the North-Eastern League. They won 3-1 at Dunfermline, and their nearest rivals, East Fife, were defeated.
It was a rousing game at Dunfermline. The Dons led by a single goal scored by Ferguson until about quarter of an hour from the end, when Dunfermline equalised. Then Billy Strauss was brought down, and Taylor (G.) put the Dons on the lead from the penalty. Nichol, a player on trial at outside right, got a third goal just on time.
Johnstone played a grand game in goal. Cooper was strong at back, and Gavin at his best as pivot. G. Taylor and Bain, the wing halves, were very effective. Billy Strauss and Nichol were the best attackers.
