Pattillo Gets 5 Goals |
 |
The Dons returned to their best form against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday, when they won by 6-2.
The game was a triumph for John Pattillo, the Aberdeen centre, who had five of the six goals. Only a great save by Brown the closing stages prevented him from registering a double hat-trick.
All Pattillo's goals were of the unsaveable order. The centre led the attack with great dash. Gourlay had the Dons' sixth goal.
Johnstone, the Aberdeen goalkeeper, might have prevented the second Hearts' goal, but otherwise his display was satisfactory. Cooper was the better back, Dyer suffering through a lapse in form on the part of Taylor in the second half. Dunlop was at his best, while Gavin, was a great defender.
The attack moved sweetly. Ancell and dryden were fast and clever wingers, Gourlay showed glimpses of his best form, and Ferguson was the initiator of many grand moves.
