Dark Blues Held Whiphand
ABERDEEN had only five players who pulled their weight during the entire ninety minutes. Dundee had eleven. That was the difference between the teams at Dens Park and that was the reason why Dundee won.

The Dons went down by the odd goal in three before a crowd of 13,000, but the margin of victory might have been greater.
In the first period the Dons made a fight of it. After the resumption, however, the Dark Blues were very definitely on top, with the Dons struggling to avoid a heavier defeat.
Johnstone, Cooper, Dunlop and Anderson put up a stubborn resistance throughout. Cooper saved three seeming sure counters. Yet both Dundee's goals could have been prevented. When Turnbull opened for Dundee, there was no one in position to clear as Johnstone, full-length, pushed the ball out. Then when Cox got a great winning goal, he was allowed to go through unchalenged.
Aberdeen carried too many weaklings. Johnstone acquitted himself well in goal and was not to blame for the defeat. Cooper has seldom played better. Young Anderson fought hard throughout, while Dunlop excelled in constructive work. Dyer was disappointing, but in Russell (Sheffield Wednesday) he had a poor half in front of him.
Forward, the Dons had only one man worth writing about. Green had no superior as an inside forward. He schemed well, and his goal was neatly taken. Pattillo was a failure. Buchan, clever on the ball, had a good first half, but Waldron was not a success at centre. Munro will better on the right wing.
Dundee on this showing are a good combination.
