Rangers A, by the aid of a penalty goal, had a decidedly lucky win at Pittodrie on Saturday. The game was one of the best in which Aberdeen A have been seen at home for a considerable time. It was keen throughout, and both in that respect and in the quality of the football shown was much ahead of recent reserve team matches on the same ground. In the first period play was, if anything, in favour of the Ibrox youngsters, who work really to have scored long before the penalty came their way. They showed a fatal hesitancy when it came to shooting. Parker, the centre, shaped more dangerously than any of his colleagues near goal. He is of the rushing, should-at-site type, who cannot safely be given an inch of rope any where within the 20 yards area. The penalty was given for bringing him down, and he scored with the kick.

In the second half the locals were the better side, and attacked for at least two-thirds of the period. They had, however, the same fault as the other quintette, though it must be admitted that C. Neilson showed a marksmanship which not another on the field accepted. He gave his confreres one or two glorious opportunities. Truly, the Ibrox goal had marvellous escapes. The visiting backs, particularly Ormond, the ex-Arbroath player, defended soundly, if robustly. As a matter of fact, the halves and backs were the best parts of both sides. The goalkeepers were safe, and the work of the forward lines has been indicated.
