Reserves Strong Defence
To their great defense Aberdeen A O their share in a goalless draw against Rangers A at Ibrox on Saturday, under Reserve League auspices.

There were 2000 spectators present. Rangers had into powerful side, Richmond appearing at right back, and from the outset it was apparent that the dons were going to have a particularly warm time of it. Indeed, the light blues could do everything but score, and twice it was only really brilliant work by King in the Aberdeen goal and saved the situation for the visitors. Time and again they were close up on Aberdeen's goal, only to find the Dons' defenders in fine, steady form, and if they were often lucky, there was no denying their pluck. Rangers, who mean to win this championship, played a hard, keen game, the forwards being very smart; but the Aberdeen defence was also good, and right on to the interval they managed to keep their goal intact. King had a very busy time of it in goal, but he was always prepared for any shots that were sent in, and, smart as Rangers' forwards were, they found the Aberdeen backs difficult to get round, although their shooting might have been improved.

On resuming the Rangers started off at a brisk pace, a shot from Paterson being stalled off. Stephenson, who had gone centre-forward, now made himself prominent with a shot which looked like counting, but Millar intervened, and in doing so got hot, which cause the stoppage. Time after time Rangers attacked but could not overcome the visitors' defence. Aberdeen now began to play up in surprising fashion, and during a brisk onslaught on the home goal Low nearly scored. Near the finish the Rangers wrought hard to win, but over anxiety on the part of the forwards lost several chances which might have been utilised.
