ABERDEEN'S EASY VICTORY.
Benefit for J Ross at Buckie.
In a benefit match for Jim Ross, Aberdeen visited Buckie last night, and engaged the Thistle at Victoria Park. There was a good attendance.
Aberdeen kicked off, and immediately attacked, but the homesters retaliated, and forced a fruitless corner. Smith, however, held Clark s header.
Shortly afterwards Gowie retired injured, and his place was taken by Hay. Aberdeen pressed, and a long shot from Ritchie went over the bar. The home defence was well tested, and held out for fifteen minutes, when Westland scored off a cross from the right.
Wood saved from R. Smith, and then Adam scored a second goal for Aberdeen, but in a Buckie raid Clark missed a great for the homesters.
In the second half Buckie claimed a penalty when Maclennan was brought down, but the referee refused to grant it. Johnston increased Aberdeen's lead, Adam scoring a fourth from a penalty. Wood was well tested in the Buckie goal, but he held out to the end.
