The members of a certain local football club journeyed to a southern town last Saturday. Nearly every member of the team left his fellows immediately on arrival at the place on the pretext of making a call. Now, it seems that in a neat little hostelry in the town there is a dainty little damsel, whose attractions have often been the theme of conversation amongst footballists visiting the town. Well, one after another, in the course of a quarter of an hour, about eight young men dropped into this "house of call," and the object, it is needless to say, of this curious concentration of football talent was the young lady alluded to. The explanations and excuses that each one gave for turning up at this particular place were greatly enjoyed by the parties on the spot.
