Great interest was centred in this match on Saturday afternoon among football layers and a goodly number of spectators witnessed the game throughout. It was arranged to play two halves of 35 minutes. The Orion started the favourites, and managed to score the first goal, but by superior speed the Caledonian worked very hard, and at the conclusion of the first half the game stood 2 goals each. The second half, which was a very fast one, looked as if the Caledonian were to win, having put on other two goals to Orion's one; but shortly before time, amidst great excitement, the Orion equalsied matters, and a splendid game ended in a draw, with 4 goals each.

The Orion played the Grammar School a shabby trick, putting off their fixture with them, but doubtless they feared getting a beating. It was very bad taste on their part playing the Caledonian after declining to play the School, but they nearly suffered defeat for their bad manners, as they only managed to equalise the game in the last few minutes.

I have been desired to state by the Secretary of the Orion that their match for 27th November was with the Caledonian, arranged at the meeting of Secretaries. Prior to this meeting offered the Grammar some open dates, 27th November among others, but never heard from them what date they had chosen, and accordingly arranged with the Caledonian for the above date.
