A match between these teams was played on Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Grounds. The weather was fine and there was a fair attendance of the public. After a delay of more than half-an-hour, caused by the photographing of the Orion team, the Granite City, who defended the east goal, kicked off. Play was pretty even during the first half, but slightly in favour of the Orion, who scored two goals to the Granite City's one. The first goal for the Orion was obtained off a foul, Fettes taking the kick, and McKay putting the ball through. The second goal was scored by Dunn with a clean swift shot through the centre of the goal. Nothing was scored in the second half, and the game ended in favour of the Orion by two goals to one.

Saturday last was almost a blank in football. The Orion met the Granite City and found the Juniors rather a hard nut to crack. Must be a screw loose somewhere.
