Aberdeenshire Cup Second Round
The Aberdeen 23 - 0 Roseberry
Kick Off:          Ketchen 9, Allan 2, J. Key 7, Christie 4, Smith
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
This tie took place on the grounds of the former at Chanonry. The Roseberry won the toss and during the first half played with the wind in their favour. At the beginning play was pretty much of a give and take character, but the Aberdeen men getting on the ball Ketchen scored the first goal. Shortly after Ketchen added other two. The Roseberry began to play a better game and looked like scoring but W. Key saved with a long kick which placed the ball in the hands of: the forwards, and the ball being passed to Ketchen, he again put it through. Within a minute Allan scored one, and J. Key put through other three. It will be seen that the play up to this time was pretty much one sided, as the Aberdeen men had no difficulty in passing the ball amongst their opponents. Ketchen, who was playing splendidly, put other two goals to his credit. Shortly before half-time, J. Key scored another goal, making 11 for Aberdeen and nil for the Roseberry. In the second half the Aberdeen, playing with the wind, kept a continual barricade at the goal of their opponents. The Roseberry men were altogether out of the game, never once getting the ball past Aberdeen. The forwards did the scoring, the backs and half-backs returning the ball to them. In the latter half 12 goals were scored: Smith, Allan, Christie 4, J. Key 3, Ketchen 3, making the game at the close: Aberdeen, 23 goals; Roseberry, nothing.
