match report 1888-89 fixture list
Orion 3 - 0 Rovers
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Central Park, Aberdeen
Played at Central Park, Kittybrewster. The weather was cold and stormy. A strong breeze was blowing across the field, which rendered good play impossible. The game for the first half consisted of a number of throws in, the ball being carried out of the field by the force of the wind, and no points were scored by either side. On changing ends, both teams worked with a will, but without success until within ten minutes of time, when the Orion, who were playing down hill, came on with a rush, and continued to press their opponents very hard, and succeeded in securing 3 goals in rapid succession, the game ending: Orion, 3 goals; Rovers, nil.
