The Aberdeen 3 - 1 Orion
Kick Off:    W. S. Brown 2, Christie       ?
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
Played at Chanonry in presnce of a large crowd, partly attracted by the fact that the match was the last, in all probability, that will take place between the two this season, and in greater measure in the expectation that a stiff tussle would be witnessed. Unfortunately, however, the game did not quite come up to expectations. The Orion, for some reason or other, did not at all play in their usual style; there was a lack of combination, a thorough want of confidence in each other, and a nerveless haste which told against them on more than one occasion. The match was all in favour of the Aberdeen, during the first half, and three goals fell to their lot - W. S. Brown, taking the first and second goals and Christie (thanks to Smith) the third. In the second three-quarters the Orion several times had the worst of luck. The Aberdeen backs played admirably, their defensive tactics being all through very clever; McCann and Thomson also played well, and the forwards, with the exception perhaps of Argo (who was decidedly off colour) were a fine lot - Smith being extremely good. The forwards were the best of the Orion combination. At call of time the scores stood: Aberdeen, 3 goals; Orion, 1 goal (a rather "flukey" point).
