Aberdeen University 2 - 3 Orion
Kick Off:  3:00 PM   Easton, Easton       McBain, Leggat, Dinnie
Attendance: 0
Venue: University Recreation Grounds, Aberdeen
Played at the ground of the former at Old Aberdeen. During the first period play was pretty equal, with the exception that a few minutes from the start the Varsity ought to have scored, but muddled at goal The Orion had several tries, but Harper at goal saved cleverly, particularly a very dangerous shot sent in by Leggat from the right. A few minutes from half-time Easton scored for the 'Varsity, and the teams crossed over: 'Varsity, 1; Orion, 0.
From the kick-off in the second period the ground team came away and looked dangerous. Low relieved, and for some time play was confined to midfield. The 'Varsity were not to be denied, however, their forwards taking the ball well down. Easton put on a second point. This second reverse wakened up the Orion, for up till this time it could not be said they were playing with their usual dash, probably owing to the fact that they had their "hop" the previous night. But from this point they took the game in hand, and kept peppering away at goal, though for some time the ball went everywhere but between the posts. But their perseverance was soon attended with success, and McBain put on the first point for his side. A little later Edwards and Leggat rushed through a second between them, and Dinnie a few minutes after put on the winning point amid cheers. The whistle immediately blew, the score standing: Orion 3, 'Varsity 2.

At University Grounds, King Street. During the first part of the game the 'Varsity had matters mostly their own way, and registered 2 goals, while they prevented their opponents from scoring. Before the finish, however, the Orion, playing with much determination, quickly put on 'A goals, and thus won the game.
