At Chanonry. The match was witnessed by a large number of spectators, and was one of the best and most stubbornly-contested games played in Aberdeen this season. From the first it was seen that the teams were very evenly balanced, the Aberdeen, if a little weak in front, being very strong in defence. After several attacks on both goals, W. S. Brown opened the scoring for Aberdeen, and a little later the same player notched a second point. The play of the Aberdeen in front of goal was often faulty, but the Arbroath custodian got several dangerous shots to hold. Caithness, the Aberdeen goalkeeper, was also being called occasionally, and ultimately Arbroath scored rather luckily. Shortly afterwards Key equalised for Aberdeen, and the final result of a game in which the home team had most of the play was a draw of three goals each.
