This return match, played at Chanonry, brought together a fairly large crowd. The locals entered the field determined to wipe out their 6-2 defeat in the third round of the Scottish Cup ties, but, though they played well, they failed in their object, and retired beaten by 6 goals to 4.

Played at Chanonry. The Inverness men ousted the Aberdeen at Inverness in the Scottish Cup Ties, which the Aberdeen have not yet got over, and were determined to wipe out on Saturday last. As far as play is concerned the Aberdeen had a moral victory - but it's points that count - pressing almost entire game, while the Inverness men came away in sudden unexpected rushes, and were on Caithness in a twinkling. Their defensive tactics paid, their goal mouth when danger seemed imminent. For the last fifteen minutes the Chanonry peppered the strangers' goal, but home they would not go. The match again ended in favour of the Invernessians, the scores standing 5 to 4.
