Northern League
St. Johnstone 6 - 2 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: St Johnstone Recreation Grounds, Perth
The first League fixture at Perth was played on Saturday afternoon, the St Johnstone having the Aberdeen as their guests. There was a good attendance. The Saints were not long in getting possession of the ball, which they sent behind. Robertson, the right-back of the Saints, sent in a fine shot, and one of the Aberdeen backs sent the sphere through. When the game was about 25 minutes old Rodgers, for the Saints, scored with a low shot, A. McFarlane following up with another in a short time. Aberdeen at these reverses played better, but could not find an opening. Immediately afterwards Burnfield sent in a shot and one of the backs sent it through his own goal. A minute later McFarlane registered a fourth goal, and at half-time the scores stood: St Johnstone, 4; Aberdeen, 0. On the resumption of the hostilities Aberdeen played hard, and about the middle of the game scored their first point. The Saints retaliated, and scored again, and the game ended: St Johnstone, 6; Aberdeen, 2.

This was Aberdeen's second League engagement, and, like the former one, proved disastrous to them. If they intend to secure a place anywhere but at the bottom of the League they will require to rouse themselves. They were rather unfortunate at Perth, as their own backs gave the Perth men two goals.

That Alick Wood kicked a goal at Perth - against his side.
That Tom also headed a beauty.
Muir failed to turn up.
