Victoria United 2 - 1 Dunfermline Athletic
Kick Off:  3:45 PM   Binks, Sinclair       J. Frew
Attendance: 0
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
This fixture came off at Torry on Saturday afternoon in perfect football weather. There was a big turnout of spectators. The visitors kicked off and immediately after the start invaded, but the attack was repulsed, and a fine combined run by the home forwards, culminated in Binks notching a goal from a corner. Equal play followed, and ultimately Dunfermline made an incursion into the home territory, and J. Frew equalised with rather a soft shot. The game was fairly contested till half-time, and no further scoring was effected. In the second period the visitors were almost interminably confined to their own territory. Shortly before the call of time play became somewhat exciting, and Sinclair, with a very low shot, beat Cree, notching the second point. Uninteresting play followed, and the game ended: Victoria 2, Dunfermline 1.

Played at Victoria Bridge Grounds. From the very outset the home team took matters in hand and led on by Buiks [sic. Binks] in centre, the forwards, ably backed up, made a continuous onslaught at the strangers' goal, where Gall in goal, aided by Myles, left half-back, gave a magnificent exhibition of saving. Buiks [sic. Binks] headed through from a corner at the very outset, and close on half-time Frew equalised for the strangers. The Vics, again took matters in hand and were unfortunate in only scoring twice, the game thus ending 3-1 in favour of the ground team. The Torry men are to be complimented on the grand form they are at present exhibiting ; and may they long continue to do so, as the football public have now all their faith set in them towards keeping up the credit of the city.

SHORT PASSES.

More victories at Torry.
The ground men think they could whack any League team.
They mean to give the League a showing up, and on present form it looks as if they will.
The play on Saturday was brilliant, and the best seen in Aberdeen for a long time.
