Played at Victoria Recreation Grounds, Aberdeen. The Harp kicked off, and Stewart, following the ball, negotiated a run to the opposing end. In two minutes from time the Vics scored. After a period of equal play the Harp got dangerously near, and, owing to a misunderstanding between Pirie and the home goalkeeper, they obtained their first point. Ends were changed with the game standing in favour of the United by 4 goals to 2.
On resuming, Sinclair scored a fifth goal, and play afterwards became rough and of a somewhat equal description. Ferris sent in a good shot which struck the bar, and, although the ball was undoubtedly through, the goal was not granted. An impetuous rush terminated in Bannan beating the goalkeeper for the third time. Just before time Ferris registered the sixth goal, and the game ended: Victoria 6, Harp 3.

The expectations of the most sanguine supporters of the Victoria men, did not dare to hope for such victory as that which the ground men accomplished by beating Dundee's pets by 6 goals to 3, which was no "fluke," but a most decisive beating, with lots to spare. Had a little more care been taken, the visitors would have been sent away pointless. As it is, they may thank their stars at their scoring. They were certainly outclassed from beginning to end, and undoubtedly the best team won.
