Orion at Dundee. |
 |
Orion were unfortunate in having to travel with so weak a team as represented them at Clepington. It was never expected Orion would overcome the Dundonians on their own ground, and it speaks well for the display of the eleven that they were defeated by only 5-3. The play during the first half was of a give and take character, and not particularly pretty to look at. At half time the score was 3-1 in favour of Wanderers.
Orion opened the second half strongly, but were beaten back. Webster had a good try, and Leggatt missed a chance. The play was mostly in favour of the visitors, and ultimately Leggatt scored. Grant put on another, but before time was called Wanderers had increased their total to 5.
Short Kicks
Orion had the hardest of hard luck at Dundee. The run of play would have been worth a draw at the least.
Stewart greatly enhanced his reputation. He kept a grand goal. The Orion are fortunate in securing so capable a custodian.

The Orion journeyed to Dundee, and engaged the Wanderers in a Northern League fixture. Wanderers had much the best of the game. They led by 3 goals to 1 at half-time, and finally won by 5 to 3.
