Orion Finish their League Fixtures
The Stripes had out their strongest available team to meet Lochee in the last of the League matches. For some time back the visitors have been going well, and they intended making a bold bid for the two points. Lochee opened the scoring, but Barron equalised, before half time.
In the second half Orion had the incline in their favour and soon were in the vicinity of Roberts. Webster put his side one up with a grand shot. Hogg scored a third. Play got rather forcible. No further scoring took place, and the game ended Orion 3, Lochee 1.

This important league fixture was played at Orion Park, Cattofield, in showery weather. There was a good attendance of spectators. Both clubs were strongly represented, the teams being as follows: Orion: Stewart; Ross, Scott; Currie, Low, Dawson; Webster, Grant, Barron, Wilson, Hogg. Lochee: Roberts; McKenzie, Taylor; Reid, Robison, McIntosh, Bunce, McFarlane, McPherson, Vigrow, Forrest. Lochee won the toss, and Orion kicked off up-field, and quickly neared the strangers' citadel. The pressure was soon relieved, however, and the blues came round Stewart, the Orion custodian. Ross cleared, and for a time even play ruled, both ends being visited in turn. The visitors' right wing then made a fine run down, but the pass was spoiled, and Ross, again cleared his lines. A foul against the Orion proved fruitless. Shortly after, Lochee forced a corner. The ball was nicely placed, and after a short scrimmage in goalmouth, the blues scored the first goal of the match. Great excitement now prevailed, and enthusiasm ran high when, shortly after the kick-off, Hogg and Wilson got off on the left, and the latter, passing to Barron, that player banged in the equalising goal. From now to half-time, little of outstanding interest was done by either team, and the ball was mostly confined to the centre. Half-time score: Orion 1, Lochee United 1.

In the second half, Orion benefitted by a breeze blowing down the field, and soon surrounded Roberts. For a time the Stripes could find no opening, but at length Webster beat the Blues' custodian with a capital shot. Lochee freshened up a bit, and for a time fully held their own. Play however, soon settled down in their half, and Roberts was kept hard at it. A most determined attack was kept up, and Hogg scored. Lochee played a desperate game, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Bruce, McPherson, and Vigrow, in turn, tried hard to beat Stewart, but Scott relieved, and play transferred to the other end. The remainder of the game was played in a most determined manner, Lochee showing a very good front, although they were now playing against wind and sun, with occasionally a shower of rain, At the close of the game Orion were still pressing, but no further scoring could be made.
