A large crowd welcomed Sheffield. The visitors put a strong team on the field. As matters turned out it was not strong enough. Foulkes and Needham were the two men who came in for most attention. The goalkeeper is a wonder. Fancy rushing 18 stone odds. Twice Burnett tried it. Foulkes smiles. Needham played inside left and gave a splendid exhibition. Almond we thought the most effective forward. Morren, centre half, is a gem. Cain resorted to questionable tactics. Foulkes is the man of the team. During the first half Vics were kept on the defensive, but Sheffield could not score. Vics had much more of the play in the closing period, Henderson especially distinguishing himself. Bobbie Ritchie scored for the Blues shortly before the whistle blew. We were rather disappointed at Sheffield's display. From the English champions we expected to get a fine exhibition of the passing game; but no, in the open they were extremely smart but finished wretchedly. They drew with Celtic, the Scottish League champions, but succumbed to the Northern League champions. Who says Aberdeen football is not improving?

Mr P. Simpson got a high compliment from the Sheffield committee. They said he was the best referee they had seen since they commenced their tour. This means something from such a team.
