Victoria United 5 - 0 Brechin
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
At Torry Grounds, Aberdeen. The Victoria assumed the supremacy at once. The front lines showed fine combination, and repeatedly had splendid runs the entire length of the field. The first point for the home team was secured shortly after the start, and at half-time the score had been brought up to 4.
The Brechin, with the exception of a few minutes, had to act entirely on the defensive. The goalkeeper was probably the best man of the team, and smartly saved a number of difficult shots. In the second half the Victoria kept up the pressure. From the start they were scarcely away from goal, and Brechin were completely hemmed in. The strangers, however, maintained a good defence, although they wore unable to do anything in the aggressive line themselves. Only one point was scored in the second period, and this fell to the Victoria shortly after the resumption of play. The game ended: Victoria United 5, Brechin 0.
