Johnstone Wanderers 1 - 7 Victoria United
Kick Off:    Peat
Attendance: 0
Venue: Clepington Park, Dundee
A highly creditable victory was gained by the Victoria in their contest with the Johnstone Wanderers at Clepington Park, Dundee, on Saturday. The game was witnessed by a fair turnout of spectators. On kicking off, the Victoria sent the ball rolling eastwards, and play for a time was even, the backs of both teams indulging in loose kicking. The Victoria United men again broke away, and treated the spectators to a fine exhibition of the passing game, and, when the ball was rushed through the Wanderers responded, but the strangers' goalkeeper cleared his lines in fine style. Working their way along the field, the Victoria United once more assumed the aggressive, and a fine shot from the right lowered the Wanderers' colours for a second time. The Wanderers retaliated, and a continued rush ended in Peat scoring. The whistle sounded with the scores: Victoria United, 2; Wanderers, 1.
On the resumption of play the Victoria United took matters in hand, and, after a lengthened siege, scored, and a few minutes later they rushed through a fourth goal. Keeping the game well in hand, the Victoria United kept the Wanderers close beset, and a fine shot by Turner beat the ground team's custodian for the fifth time. After this reverse the play of the Wanderers became utterly demoralised, and Victoria United put on two other points. The game thus ended: Victoria United, 7 ; Johnstone Wanderers, 1.
