This match was played on Saturday afternoon at Central. Park, when after a closely contested game the Orion succeeded in drawing with their opponents. There was a poor turnout of spectators. The wind was gusty and blew down the field with considerable violence, the ball being frequently carried out of play. The Dundee started against the wind, and for some time managed to hem their opponents into their own territory. The first point was secured for the Orion by Leggat, and immediately after Dundee equalised. Two more goals were put on for the Orion by Fraser and Baird, and the teams crossed over with the score standing: Orion 3, Wanderers 1.
The game in the early part of the second half resembled the opening period, the Dundee men holding the Orion in check incessantly. They secured two more points, but although the Orion played up towards the close, they failed to take the lead, and time sounded with the scores standing: Orion, 3; Johnstone Wanderers, 3.
The goalkeeper and backs of the Orion played a consistently good game, while the play of the Dundee backs also commanded the admiration of the spectators for their fine defensive kicking.
