The tie between these teams in the first round of the competition of the Aberdeen Charity Cup was played on Saturday afternoon at Chanonry. Considerable interest was manifested in the fixture, and in consequence there was a large turnout of spectators.
In the first period play was confined for the most part to Bon-Accord territory, but although the Victoria had the best of the game they found it very difficult to secure goals. The Bon-Accord played a plucky game, and the Victoria United managed to score only one point. The teams crossed over with the Bon-Accord having nothing to their credit. The second half was only about ten minutes old, when the Bon-Accord made a splendid run towards the Victoria's goal, and, with a beautiful shot from the right, sent the ball through, thus equalising the game. Shortly after¬wards the inside left carried the ball up the field, and Forsyth notched a second goal for Bon-Accord. The Vics, now warmed to their work, and after a spell of fast play Ferries put on a second goal for the United. Towards the close of the game Ferries again scored, and the match resulted in favour of the Victoria United by 3 goals to 2.
