Brechin 4 - 6 Orion
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Montrose Street Park, Brechin
One of the Orion's Good Things.
This match was played at Montrose Street Park. Brechin kicked off, and at once the game became fast. From a good shot on the left Orion scored, but Brechin soon equalised. The Orion again made a determined attack at the home goal, and were rewarded with a second goal, and before half time two more points fell to their credit. On re-starting, the home team at once took up the running, and, after one or two repulses, added a second point. This was followed by a third goal. Orion now began to play with greater spirit, and in a short time scored twice. A last attempt by Brechin resulted in the notching of a fourth point. The game ended: Orion, 6 ; Brechin, 4.

No club in the city has a record for surprises such as the plucky Central Parkers. When we have given them up and think them incapable of doing anything good, out they come and swoop down upon us like a thunderclap, with such a genuine surprise that we have to see the Telegraph ere we can swallow it. Such was the case on Saturday in their match with Brechin, and considering the team was a very scratch one, being without Foote, Gloag, and Leggat, the result is all the more praiseworthy, and shows that there is life in the old dog yet. Playing with surprising dash and with the wind, the stripes scored four times to Brechin's once it the first half. The Brechiners played hard on getting the wind behind them and scored three times but the Aberdonians came away in the closing scene and added other two goals, the result reading - Orion 6, Brechin 4.

Short Kicks

Good old Orion. To beat Brechin on their ain midden head is indeed good biz, and without Foote, Gloag, and Leggat too. Go it, old fellows. You have still many warm admirers, and they were intensely delighted on Saturday, you bet.
The Charity tie between the Aberdeen and Orion will be decided at Torry to-day (Saturday). It was the general opinion a week ago that the whites would trot over, but after Saturday, who knows what will happen.
The stripes are endeavouring to get a strong team up, and if all goes well there is every likelihood of seeing a surprise packet of stripes at Torry.
