Fully 4000 spectators saw Aberdeen and Morton shared in a draw of one goal each at Greenock. Aberdeen had much the better of the earlier stages. Walker had a strong effort saved for a corner, and Anderson distinguished himself with some clever saves. Carol opened the scoring for Aberdeen, after cleverly including Ormonde, the tackle him. And half-time Aberdeen led by the only goal scored.

Aberdeen continued to hold the upper hand in the second half, played fine, three and hope and football. After 20 minutes Seymour equalised, and after that the game underwent a change, the Aberdeen defence being tested to the full. Aberdeen lost a grand chance to take the lead when Main, cleverly beating the backs and drawing Bradford out, and tipping the ball over his head, just failed to score. Aberdeen, except in the closing stages, or the stronger combination, their half-back play especially being good. There was a pronounced weakness in front of goal, but overall they acquitted themselves well and fully merited a division of the points.
