Orion 1 - 3 The Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Mackay       Thomson, Black, Macfarlane
Attendance: 3,000
Venue: Central Park, Cowdenbeath
A friendly game between the above teams was played yesterday evening at Central Park, Kittybrewster, and was witnessed by a crowd of nearly 3000 spectators. The ground was hard and dusty, while a strong breeze blowing from the south interfered to some extent with accurate kicking. Both teams were short of their full strength. The Orion kicking off uphill, at once took up the aggressive, and hemmed the Aberdeen in their own territory. Relief came, however, from the capital kicking of Wood and Singleton. Play then became very equal, both sides having alternate visitations of their opponents' headquarters. About ten minutes before half-time, a splendid shot from Mackay, the Orion right wing, took effect, and the teams crossed over with the score standing: Orion, 1; Aberdeen, 0.
On recommencing, the Aberdeen at once asserted themselves, and throughout the concluding portion of the game had all the play. First blood was drawn far them by Thomson, and soon after Black, from the left wing, scored a second goal. A little before the call of time Macfarlane, with a swift shot, added another point, The Orion made strenuous efforts to equalise, but time was called with the scores: Aberdeen, 3; Orion, 1.
