Div 1 (Old)
Queens Park 3 - 1 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    J. A. McLaren, A. D. McLaren, J. A. McLaren       Cail.
Attendance: 6,000
Venue: Hampden Park, Glasgow
The Queen's Park-Aberdeen game at Hampden, Glasgow, had a depressing opening from a home point of view, a slack bit of kicking-off from a goal kick presenting Cail with an open chance, which he accepted. It took the amateurs ten minutes to equalise, through J. A. McLaren, and till the interval the Queen's were superior. The restart favoured the amateurs, and they scored in fifteen minutes though A. D. McLaren. Aberdeen were chiefly defending, as the home team were displaying much dash and resource. A third goal, scored by J. A. McLaren ten minutes from the close, settled the issue, and the points went worthily to the amateurs.

In recent weeks Aberdeen have shown an improvement in form, and it was expected that against Queen's Park, who had not had a victory since December, they would, at least, secured a draw at Hampden Park. The unlooked for happened, however, and Aberdeen were defeated by 3 goals to 1. Aberdeen opened the scoring through Cail, quite early in the game. J. A. McLaren equalised, and at the interval the game stood even, though Aberdeen had the better of matters in the first half.

At the opening of the second period the visitors showed two advantage, and Queen's were confined to their own area for some time. The amateurs, however, added to their total, a shot by A. D. McLaren entering the net off the crossbar, and Aberdeen were a beaten side. A third point for Queen's was obtained by J. A. McLaren. The outstanding Aberdeen players were McLauchlan, Archibald and W. Wyllie.
