Played at Central Park in splendid weather, and before a large turnout of spectators. The game throughout was a remarkably tame one, the visitors being outmatched from the commencement. Fraser scored the first goal for the Orion from a pass off Gordon. Shortly afterwards the Orion put on another goal, Fraser again doing the needful. No further scoring took place during the first half.
In the second period of the game the visitors did their utmost to score, and were ultimately successful in getting one point, Denholms sending in a shot which Edwards failed to negotiate. This success on the part of the Adventurers spurred the homesters on to renewed efforts, and within a comparatively short period Fairbairn was beaten four times. The game thus ended: Orion 6, Adventurers 1.
