Orion 0 - 2 Victoria United
Kick Off:          ?, Stewart
Attendance: 0
Venue: Central Park, Aberdeen
These teams met in a friendly match at Central Park last night. There was a very large crowd of spectators. The teams were: Vics: Gray; Ririe, Thomson ; Ross, Stewart, Hickie; Murison, Benzie, Sutherland, Ritchie, Ferries. Orion: Low; Edwards, Foote; Wight, Mackay, Currie; Gordon, G. Macfarlane, Fraser, Gloag, Leggat.

The Vics, won the toss, and elected to play downhill with the wind in their favour. With this advantage the visitors had no difficulty in pressing. A foul against the Orion at goalmouth gave the Vics an opportunity of scoring, but Edwards cleared his lines. For the next few minutes the ball travelled fast between the two ends. Both teams were playing well, the tackling of the homesters especially being effective. Once or twice the visitors pressed, but the home defence was too much for them, and they were always repulsed. About five minutes from the change of sides the "Blues" forwards took the ball down from mid-field, and by means of a scramble at goal scored the first and only point in the first half.

On resuming, the Stripes worked determinedly, but the forwards not allowing for the wind, spoiled several good chances of scoring. The Vics, now pulled themŽselves together, and for about ten minutes never allowed the leather to get past the midfield line. The forwards were working hard, and getting the ball well up the field, it was sent into touch. From the throw-in Stewart scored a beauty of a goal. It was now getting dark, and it was with difficulty that the ball could be followed. The strangers continued to press, and the Orion had to adopt defensive tactics. Stewart was playing a splendid game, and was the means more than once of clearing his lines. Towards the end of the game, the Orion succeeded in getting into their opponents' territory, and by a combined attack gave Gray a hot time of it. Stewart, however, came to the rescue, and by a strong kick transferred the play to the homesters' quarters. Darkness had now descended, and nothing farther of interest took place. Result: Victoria United. 2 : Orion. 0.
