Victoria United 4 - 3 Combined Aberdeen-Orion
Kick Off:    From Scrimmage, Sutherland, Stewart, Benzie       Macfarlane, Fraser, Leggat
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
This match, the proceeds of which were given to assist in clearing off the debt on the Aberdeen Trades Council Buildings in Belmont Street, was played at Chanonry last night in beautiful weather, and before a very large attendance. The teams were: Victoria United: Gray; Anderson, Thomson; Ross, Stewart, Ritchie; Turner, Benzie, Sutherland, Annand, Ferries. Combined team: Edwards (Orion); Foote (Orion), Wood (Aberdeen); Singleton (Aberdeen), Mackay (Orion), Cobban (Aberdeen); Fraser and McFarlane (Orion); Toman (Aberdeen); Gardiner (Fair City), and Leggat (Orion).

The United kicked off, and were early in the territory of the combination, but the defence prevailed. The forwards of the combined team, who all wore white jerseys, then had a look in and Toman just missed scoring. On this the Blues went down field, and out of a scrimmage scored the first goal. For a time after this the United kept the Whites to their own part of the ground, till Wood gave relief with a big kick, from which the Whites got well down, but again missed by inches. After hovering in the vicinity of the United goal for a time, the Whites were sent back, and after a grand defence, in which Edwards shone, Sutherland, from a scrimmage, put on the second goal. Shortly afterwards Stewart, from nearly half field, made a strong kick, the ball hitting the cross bar, and rolling through the goal. The whistle immediately sounded with the scores - Victoria United 3, Combined Team 0.

A minute from the start McFarlane scored the first goal for the combination. Fraser soon put on another, and from a foul Leggat sent through a third - all within ten minutes from the start of the half. Wakening up after this, the United had all the play for a time, and after swarming round Edwards. Benzie put his team one point up. After this play was of a give and take nature, the United, if anything, having the best of it. A hard game ended: Victoria United 4, Combined Team 3.

The amount drawn at the gate was 20 6s 0d. and as a large number of tickets were sold by members of the Trades Council, which have to be added to this, it is expected that, a sum of at least 20 will be cleared when all expenses are paid.
