The Aberdeen 5 - 1 Orion
    For local charities
Kick Off:    Mackie, Currie (o.g.), Cobban, Toman, White       Duncan
Attendance: 2,500
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
The supplementary charity football match between the Orion and Aberdeen was played at Chanonry before about 2500 people last night. The Aberdeen kicked off and soon assumed the aggressive, but the Orion played a splendid defensive game, and kept their opponent's well at bay. About ten minutes after the start the Aberdeen forwards carried the leather down the field, and Mackie sent home a stinging shot which Smith failed to negotiate. Shortly afterwards the Aberdeen again pressed, and Currie (Orion half) accidentally headed through his own goal. Give and take play followed until within ten minutes of half-time, when Duncan got upon the ball and shot the first goal for the Orion. A minute later Cobban retaliated by scoring the third goal for the homesters. At half-time the score stood: Aberdeen 3, Orion 1.

Play was pretty even in the second half. Several good opportunities were lost by the Orion through faulty shooting. The Whites? forwards succeeded in getting on the leather, and Toman shot the fourth goal for the Aberdeen, and White soon after put in a beauty of a shot, thus registering the fifth goal for his team. No further scoring took place, and the game ended: Aberdeen 5, Orion 1.

The gate money, which amounted to £5 10s, is to be distributed among the local charities.
