Poor fare was presented to the 3000 spectators at the Hibernian-Aberdeen match at Easter Road, Edinburgh, and not a goal was scored. The Hibernians had most of the play, but the form shown by both sides was very moderate, and if the Aberdeen goalkeeper had at times plenty of work to do he never had to perform wonders to save his charge. Indifferent finishing was a feature of the game..

Hume turned out for Aberdeen at Easter Road, and, with Anderson and Colman, made a sturdy defence. It was a good-going game all through. Main had hard luck in not scoring in the first period, the ball striking the crossbar with McManus beaten to the world. In this half Aberdeen had a strong sun behind them, and had slightly the pull, while, with ends turned, they gave quite as good as they got, until in the closing stages when the Hibs made a series of Determined attacks, which kept the Pittodrie defence on tenterhooks until the whistle blew.
