Played at Montrose in breezy weather, and before a small attendance of spectators. Teams: Montrose: McIntosh; Bowman, Burgess; Duncan, Patterson, Thornton; Stephen, Gibb, Murray, Dunn, McFarlane. Victoria United: Edwards; Foote, Ririe; Morris, Annand, Duffus; Turner, Benzie, Sutherland, Moonie, Clark. The strangers playing towards the east - having won the toss - soon put on two good goals, the Montrose players managing to score one before half-time. During the second half Montrose put on one more goal, and a capitally contested and pleasant game ended in a draw of two goals each.
