Continuing the good work and making further progress up the Premier Reserve table, the young Dons went on to beat Hearts at Pittodrie in their next outing. Again it was by the only goal of the game, the decisive counter coming from Ian Cameron ten minutes after the kick-off.
Subsequently, Aberdeen scorned a couple of good scoring chances which would have put the issue beyond doubt and produced a final scoreline reflecting the game more accurately. The narrowness of their lead, however, gave the young Dons some uncomfortable moments later in the game when Hearts' use of long balls through the middle pur pressure on a home defence lacking a central defender with aerial dominance.
This game proved to be a testing experience for Derek Stillie, deputising in goal for Michael Watt and making only his second Premier Reserve appearance of the season, but the teenage keeper acquitted himself well.
