At Pittodrie Park last night the Aberdeen and Victoria United teams engaged in a Rhodesia Cup tie fixture, before a fair turnout of spectators. The teams were:- Aberdeen: Bisset; J. Mackie, Dakers; Sangster, Thomson, Robertson; Brash, C. Mackie, H. Livingstone, Davidson, Bruce. Victoria United: Murray; Kilgour, Craig; Bremner, A. Murray, R. Ritchie; Knowles, Duncan, Thom, Ferries, G. Ritchie. Mr. Thomson, Orion, was referee.
Half-time arrived without either side having scored. On resuming the homesters got down, but a foul was awarded against them. Craig shot strongly down the field, and Duncan scored. Mackie made no attempt to clear, as Duncan was lying decidedly off-side, but the referee awarded the United the point. Almost immediately afterwards Thom added a second goal for the United, who now had the best of the exchanges, and a blunder on the part of Mackie allowed G. Ritchie to get down. The United left wing crossed smartly, and Duncan, rushing up, easily scored a third goal. Just before the finish Aberdeen managed to get the ball past Murray into the net. The display of the Aberdeen forwards all through, was very poor, and the United deserved their victory.
