At Pittodrie Park on Saturday afternoon, the Aberdeen and Cowdenbeath teams engaged in a Northern League fixture, before a fair turnout of spectators. The weather was cold and bleak, and a strong wind blew across the field. The teams were:- Cowdenbeath: Hood; Drummond, Nisbet; Ramsay, Horne, Middlemas; McAughay, G. Wilson, Mercer, D. Wilson, Horne. Aberdeen: Bisset; Walker, Ross; J. Mackie, Thomson, Murphy; Buchan, Breslin, Singer, Taylor, Shiach. Mr. Kelly, Celtic, was referee.
Cowdenbeath kicked off towards the sea. Aberdeen, with the wind in their favour, at once assumed the aggressive, and within a minute of the opening Singer scored. The pressure was kept up by the homesters for some time. The forward line of the Cowdenbeath showed much dash and determination, and had it not been for the strong wind they would undoubtedly have scored. The Aberdeen front line lacked method, but their shooting was much improved compared with their recent performances. Through D. Wilson the visitors equalised, but just before half-time the Aberdeen again got the lead.
In the second half Cowdenbeath did not improve so much as was expected. After some end-to-end play, however, the visitors again managed to equalise through Wilson, who headed the ball into the net. Both teams now made strenuous efforts to get the winning goal, but the game ended in semi-darkness without further scoring.
