Young Dons in Command at Leith

With Pittodrie being declared unplayable a week ago. the reserves had a blank day. They are off to Leith to-day in search of league points. They may get a point or points - but they'll get little else, for the support accorded to Leith Athletic is poor indeed. In fact it is doubtful if they could exist were it not for the revenue received from dirt-track racing. According to Leith officials, this a most exciting sport which has quite a following in Leith and Edinburgh.

Aberdeen have picked up another promising youngster in Willie Sinclair, one of their provisional signings from Blairhall Colliery. He is only seventeen years old. Sinclair had a good game on the right wing for the young Dons against Leith Athletic at Pittodrie on Saturday. He is a clever ball player and combined well with Newlands.

ALTHOUGH the winning goal was not scored until three minutes from the finish, Aberdeen A never looked like losing the game against Leith Athletic at Old Meadowbank. They won 2-1.

For practically the whole of the first half Aberdeen's half backs manacled the Leith forwards, and the only times the Edinburgh side showed to advantage were furtive raids which never got the length of troubling Curran.
The entire Aberdeen side played with supreme confidence and their accurate passing bewildered the Leith rear lines.
McMillan's cut and thrust had Harrison and Henderson standing in their tracks, and he and Stenhouse struck a commanding combination.
Had they with the other forwards, employed more direct methods, the result would have been more in keeping with the run of play.
Aberdeen's scorers were Rodger and Boyd. Hood scored for Leith.
