The Young Dons ran into a goal storm at Dens Park, but much of their difficulty was due to an injury to centre-half Anderson. Unknown to many people the pivot played on in the first half despite a broken nose.
The Dundee doctor treated him at the interval and advised that he should be rested in the second half.
The Aberdeen ten had no chance against the home team, who were right on their toes. Apart from occasional raids, in which Newlands and Hather were usually prominent, they offered little challenge.
