The Aberdeenshire Cup.
Fraserburgh Thistle created a bit of a sensation by the way in which they got going at Pittodrie on Saturday. They opened the score inside five minutes, and were making rings round the home team for a while. Superior training, however, told its tale, for after twenty minutes interesting play, there was only one team in it, and that not the Thistle. The A's began to know where the goal lay, and the goalkeeper was lucky in several of his saves before he was beaten by Ritchie. Then MacConnachie added a second before half-time. In the Second period, the Thistle got almost obscured from the picture, while at regular intervals Aberdeen scored till their total reached 6. Dalgarno and Ritchie were the best forwards, Macconachie the best half, and Hannah the better at back, and Macpherson was good in goal. The Thistle were best served by their outside men in the front line, but they all require to be able to stand the pace longer.Source: Bon-Accord, 28th January
