13/02/1909 | KO:

Aberdeen A journeyed to the Buchan capital on Saturday and met Peterhead in a friendly in the Recreation Park. Crisp weather favored the match, footing the ground in fine condition. There was a fairly large number of spectators. The teams were:-

Aberdeen A: King; Hannah, Stevens; McConnachie, JJ Simpson, Macfarlane; Hay, Towns, Dalgarno, Ritchie, Edgar.
Peterhead: Pyper; Thomson, Murphy; Milne, Davidson, Bruce; Imlay, Scott, McIntosh, A. Cadger, Vass.

The game opened briskly, Aberdeen A breaking away immediately and rushing the opposite defence. They failed at the critical moment, however, and let Peterhead away. Peterhead failed to score also, McIntosh shooting into King's hands. A run by Vass seemed promising, but he was fouled just outside the penalty area, and the ensuing kick went over the bar. The visitors' forward line got away, and Dalgarno scored. Another was added before half-time.

On resuming, Aberdeen A again attacked, and another goal was added to their score. A spell of uninteresting play followed, but towards the end of the game Peterhead kept up a continual pressure on the opposing defence, and made strenuous efforts to score. It was to no avail, however, and when the whistle sounded the scores were - Aberdeen A 3, Peterhead 0.
