The Aberdeen's under-18 squad underlined their recovery from a mid-season form slump when they scored 19 goals in two Youth League games last week.
Major contributions to the high-scoring wins - 13-0 over Alloa at Recreation Park and 6-1 over Falkirk at Brockville - were brothers Darren and Derek Young. Younger brother Derek achieved the rare feat of scoring a hat-trick in each half at Alloa and he was twice on target against Falkirk, where Darren also contributed a brace. Mark Gray (2), Keith Wishart, Russell Anderson, Chris Dawson, Michael Hart and Michael Newlands were also on target in the Alloa goal romp, while Newlands and recent signing Ian Good were the Youngs' fellow-marksmen at Falkirk.
In both games, the Pittodrie colts took advantage of their superiority to give all three Dons' substitutes an outing. Hart, Tommy Robertson and goalkeeper Ryan Esson came off the bench at Recreation Park and Hart, Baldur Bett and Russet Duncan were the substitutes in action against Falkirk.
