Youths Teamwork Pays Dividends
Paying their second visit to the Astroturf pitch at Battery Park, Gourook, Aberdeen's Under-18 team made light of the unfamiliar surface and recorded a convincing 4-1 Youth League win over Morton. Two up in the first half-hour, Michael Craig opening the scoring after a breakthrough by Alan Houston, and David Matheson heading the second from a Derek Young corner, the Pittodrie colts were stung by the loss of a goal from the penalty spot just before the interval.
The youngsters, however, reacted well and their excellent teamwork was rewarded with further goals from Houston and Darren Young.
