Aberdeen "A" defeated Aberdeen University in an Aberdeen and District League game at Pittodrie last night by five goals to three. The attendance was small.
Aberdeen "A" were the first to become dangerous, and a shot from Jackson was palmed out by Donald. Carroll secured possession, and opened the scoring. Shortly afterwards, McLeod added Aberdeen's second goal from close range, and a third fell to Carroll with a first-time effort. At this stage Cheyne twisted his ankle, and went to outside right, Jackson going to the inside berth. Off a pass from Cheyne, Jackson added Aberdeen's fourth goal. The University then took up the running, and two shots in succession were well saved by McSevich. Immediately after the resumption the students pressed, and a shot from Yorston struck the upright and went into the net. Aberdeen increased their total from a penalty kick taken by Jackson. The subsequent play favoured the University, and Yorston completed his "hat trick" scoring two fine goals. Davidson (Argyle) made a good impression at centre-half, and Carroll and McLeod were the best forwards. The outstanding players in the University team were Chillas, Laurie, and Yorston.
