Aberdeen 'A' Oust Peterhead

At Pittodrie Park yesterday afternoon Aberdeen "A" defeated Peterhead by eight goals to nil in the second round of the Aberdeenshire County Cup competition, before 1000 spectators.
Yorston opened Aberdeen's account after fifteen minutes' play. The home team kept up the pressure, and after Henderson had saved at full length from Wilson, Yorston counted a second time. Peterhead retaliated, and Blackwell was called upon to save a centre from Nicol and a good effort by Wyness. Play was quickly transferred to the other end, where Aberdeen went further ahead. Polland broke away on the left and his shot rebounded off a defender into the net. The Peterhead goal ran several narrow escapes, shots by Polland and Wilson missing narrowly. The visitors had several promising raids. In which Will and Davidson were prominent, but the Aberdeen defence was sound.
The game had only been resumed five minutes when Falloon scored a fourth goal, and a minute later Yorston added a fifth. The superior training of the Aberdeen players told during this period, and Peterhead were kept mainly on the defensive. Aberdeen increased their total to six through Yorston. Towards the end Peterhead rallied, and Blackwell saved a good try by Davidson. The visitors kept up the pressure for a time and several opportunities were missed. The home players did not exert themselves, but before the finish Yorston brought the Aberdeen total to eight and his own to six.
