At Firhill, Aberdeen 'A" had a great tussle for the points, and it was only a late goal by that enabled the Pittodrie team to run out winners by the odd goal in five.
During the second period Legge, the Aberdeen left back, and Wilkie, the Partick Thistle inside left, were ordered off.
Aberdeen were first to be dangerous, a shot by Donald going narrowly past. At the other end Blackwell tipped a good shot by Wilkie over the bar. After ten minutes' play Wilkie gave Thistle the lead. Aberdeen returned to the attack, and from a Polland cross McKenzie headed over. In another brisk raid by the homesters Wilkie increased their lead. Aberdeen quickly reduced the leeway through McKenzie. Thistle resumed on the offensive, and the Aberdeen goal had several escapes as the result of the defence getting rattled. The Pittodrie team settled down, and from a Wilson cross Donald put them on level terms. Seven minutes from the end Polland terminated a clever individual run with a well-taken goal. It was previous to this that Legge and Wilkie got their marching orders.
