Students Fight Hard At Pittodrie

At Pittodrie Park yesterday afternoon before a small attendance of spectators, Aberdeen "A" beat Aberdeen University by the only goal scored, In an Aberdeen and District League fixture.
The students put up an unusually good display, and it was only a last-minute goal scored by Wilson which enabled the Pittodrie team to secure both points.
The warm sunshine apparently had Its effect on the Aberdeen "A" players, who dawdled away the first half, and found that when they did exert themselves in the second period, the students were a match for them. Certainly if the Pittodrie eleven had gone out for a win from the start they would have won by a bigger margin, but this does not reflect on the fine performance of the students.
Much praise is due the University defence, especially R. C. Singer, who had some remarkable saves. R. S. Patterson was the better back, while of the halves F. T. Kidd was most prominent. In attack, P. Bain, G. D. McKenzie, and W. Rhind were best. For Aberdeen "A," Muir, Merrie, Polland, and Wilson were most prominent.
